About Me
Who am I?
I was born and raised in East Tennessee, USA. I am currently living and working in Barcelona, Spain. I have a BS in Textiles, Merchandising, & Design, and my TEFL certification. Most recently, I have completed my Master's in Education and I am studying to take final exams to receive my US teaching license. I discovered my passion for teaching when I became a corporate trainer in 2011. Later, I became a training manager with the privilege to lead a team of trainers where I launched multiple business projects at both domestic and international company sites. These roles gave me the opportunity to grow my management skills in diverse environments. What's more, I became adept at evaluating students and creating learning plans that helped develop their strengths to achieve success.
I am a lover of art, music, dogs, languages, and traveling!
What is my teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy can be best summarized by a quote from world-renowned poet and author, Maya Angelou “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” continuously explore the world around us to learn all that I can. To be a better teacher and human being.
I want to inspire in my students the same lifelong passion for learning; so they never stop learning and questioning the world around them. Never accept the status quo just because that is what it has always been. I want to teach my students to learn to be open to new ideas and yet discerning enough to find what is true.
